Hundreds of skaters attended the opening of Orford Park’s skate park on Saturday 22 October (pictured).
The new skatepark, designed by Wheelscape, was officially opened by Cllr Mike Hannon, Cllr Kate Hannon and Cllr Kelly Simcock.
There was lots on offer on the day including skateboard demonstrations by Liverpool based skate pro's Lost Arts, scooter, roller blade and BMX competitions. DJs and MCs were provided by Blue Vine Records and there was even panna football from Participation Through Sport.
Cllr Mike Hannon, (Lab, Orford), deputy leader of the council, said:
‘This is the first of many high quality facilities that will be opening at Orford Park that will make a real difference to the local community.’
Cllr Kate Hannon (Lab, Orford), executive board member for leisure, community and culture, said:
‘This skatepark is great news for the young people of Warrington and those skateboarding enthusiasts further afield who we know are travelling here to make use of it.’
